EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT - May 2023

EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT - May 2023

Our Employee Spotlight for May is our Sales Coordinator, Erin Flanagan. Erin lives in Exeter, a town she likes a lot because it’s a quiet community yet still easy to travel to Wilkes-Barre & Scranton. There are a lot of local restaurants in town that she enjoys with her husband, Matt.

Erin and Matt have been married for 3.5 years. He is a co-owner of Fame Strength in Dallas, where he mainly trains athletes of all levels. They have three cats, Carson, Marzipan, and Quinn. And would like to get a dog one day. Erin is the oldest of 3 children. Her brother lives in NJ & sister lives in Dallas, PA. Let’s get to know more about Erin!

AL: How long have you been with Action Lift?

I started in July of 2022.

AL: Briefly, what does your job entail?

As a sales coordinator, I assist the salesman in the placing of orders. This involves coordinating the shipping of orders, creating purchase orders, creating invoices, etc. I assist them in any way that is needed.

AL: Who inspired you to pursue the career you have today?

Honestly, my sister, I've always looked up to her. When I started my last job, she worked there too. She convinced me I would be good at it and taught and trained me in sales & customer service. I discovered I was pretty good at it & liked it as well.

AL: What best advice can you give someone who just started their career?

Apply yourself to many things. Especially if you are recently graduating from college, don't limit yourself to something specific. Try new things; you never know what you might like.

AL        What are the most demanding challenges you’ve had at work? How did you overcome them?

ERIN:   My organization has improved. I've always been organized, but this job has a lot of factors that go into ordering equipment. I have learned how to multi-task better. Everyone has been so nice while teaching me what I need to know. Which I have only sometimes had. Being part of this team is really great.

AL: What’s your secret talent no one knows about?

I would have to say cooking. My dad is a great cook. So, he inspired me. I learned a lot watching and helping him cook. We also watched a lot of cooking shows growing up. I love to look up recipes and use them as a guide. I am a foodie, for sure.

AL: When you are at work, how do you motivate yourself?

I mirror and channel others’ energy. I feel like this is a good team environment. I like to strive to make other jobs run smoothly.

AL: Regarding successes, which accomplishments are you most proud of?

Starting over my career at the very end of 2019. I was a stationery artist/graphic designer for eight years. I decided I needed a change, and I switched careers and went into sales. It was hard. Especially with the start of Covid a couple of months after. But after several months, I knew I had made the right decision.

AL: Tell me something about you that most people don’t know.

I have a small side hustle of custom painting. The most popular items are pet portraits and houses. I started doing it for friends and family and sometimes gift-giving. More people kept reaching out about them, so I decided to start it. I mainly paint in watercolor, but sometimes acrylic is requested. I made an Instagram page to share my designs & promote myself a little (Instagram: @e_fdesigns).

Thank you, Erin!
